Final Fantasy IV Advance: European Font Enhancement

The European version of Final Fantasy IV Advance offers a few benefits over the US release including smoother, more stable battles and a number of bug fixes. This patch makes the tiny font, which looks fine on a GBA, a little wider to make it readable on my Game Boy Player.

Please note that this patch has only been tested with English, I have yet to encounter any text spillovers in English but chances are other languages spillover.

The European version of Final Fantasy IV Advance offers a few benefits over the US release

I do not speak any of the other languages fluently enough to fix spillovers.

Patching Instructions

To use this patch you need the following:

?Final Fantasy IV Advance (E) ROM
?IPS Patching Utility
?GBA Emulator or GBA Flash Cart

If you need an IPS patching utility and you're using Windows I recommend Lunar IPS:

If you need a GBA emulator I recommend VisualBoyAdvance:
http://vba.ngemu.com/

Sorry, I can't provide you with the Final Fantasy IV Advance (E) ROM.


Once you have all that use your patching program to patch a copy of your ROM and run it in
your favorite emulator or flash it to your flashcart and enjoy.
