Final Fantasy VI Advance Font Facelift is a fan-made patch for the Game Boy Advance version of Final Fantasy VI Advance, designed to improve text readability. It includes two variants: SLIM, which enhances the original thin font without changing the letter width, and THICK, which modifies letter sizes for better readability but may cause text spillover in non-English languages. Both variants update the in-battle HP/MP display to match the menu font.
Just like its predecessor, the menu font of Final Fantasy VI Advance (PAL) has uneven letters sourced from different variants of this typeface. Further, players have found the small font difficult to read when played on real hardware. Therefore, this package of two patches was created.
- SLIM beautifies the original thin font while keeping the original letter width, resulting in better-looking text while ensuring from none of the languages spill from window constraints.
- THICK is aimed at English-speakers only. Certain letters are widened as in the NTSC-U release, perfectly enhancing readability for the English text while causing spillovers in every other language.
- Both patches also redesign the in-battle HP/MP display so they match the menu font.

- For both the slim and thick variants, modified the lowercase l of the menu font to appear more
like that of the dialogue font. This distinguishes the I and l more easily.
- For both the slim and thick variants, modified the lowercase g to resemble the one used in FFIV
DS.
- Fixed the lowercase standard and accented a's in the thicker font patch, and slightly edited the
uppercase ?G? for wider, slimmer, and Music Player fonts.
- Further updated standard and inverted question and exclamation marks.
- Modified the menu font to better match the one used in the US release, but its original width
is retained. (This font is used in the Music Player in both patches.)
- Made a thicker variant of the menu font. There will be two patches.
- Modified a few item and spell icons. Notably, the white magic icon is no longer missing a gray
pixel.
- Thinned the exclamation and question marks in the 12x12 dialogue font.
- Thinned the countdown timer/battle numbers, as well as the MP display.
