Pokémon FireRed Version: PokéMetroid is a fan-made ROM hack for the Game Boy Advance that transforms the original game by replacing starter Pokémon with characters inspired by the Metroid series, including Metroid and Ridley. Key legendary encounters are reimagined as iconic Metroid bosses. This hack features new trainer sprites, custom teams for rivals, and unique movesets, focusing on blending Pokémon gameplay with Metroid elements.
This hack substitutes the starter evolution lines for:
- Metroid, Gamma Metroid and Omega Metroid
- Birdie, Misterious Creature and Ridley
- X Parasite, Core X and Barrier X
*All starters can now be caught in the wild
They all have completely revamped movesets, types, base stats, abilities etc.
The female trainer sprites are changed to resemble Samus Aran as a Pokémon trainer.
The rival is changed to be your evil sister as a reference to Dark Samus.
She will pick a complementary starter and has custom teams to go with them.

Apply this patch to a .gba rom of Pokémon FireRed 1.0 (USA) with Lunar IPS or an equivalent program
The hack has been tested on Visual Boy Advance and has also been run on Everdrive X5 Mini and EZ-Flash Omega
