Pokémon Blue Version: No Music Edition is a modification of the original Pokémon Blue for Game Boy that disables all musical tracks, including fanfares and the Poké Flute theme, while retaining sound effects. This alteration allows players to enjoy external music alongside the game's sound cues. Players may notice instant text advances in certain scenarios and brief pauses when escaping from wild Pokémon.
This hack mutes the music, the fanfares that play when getting items, catching and leveling up Pokémon, and the Poké Flute music. Sound effects are left intact.
Useful if you want to listen to other music while being able to hear the sound effects.
Notes: Some text will close or advance instantly, such as when you choose your starter or find items. The game also pauses for a bit when you run from wild Pokémon, if you press A/B while the escape sound is playing.
