Yoshi LDX is a fan-created modification of the original Yoshi game for Game Boy, featuring enhanced graphics and corrected colors aligned with the NES palette. Notable changes include sprite adjustments, an unused title screen music track, modifications to win/loss screens, and SGB support with custom borders and palettes. The hack offers an improved visual experience across multiple platforms.
Yoshi LDX (Lazy/Light DX) is a hack of the Yoshi game for Gameboy that attempts to correct as many colors as possible to the NES using the built in color palette the GBC chooses for this game.
Main changes include:
- Various sprite tweaks/changes
- Title screen plays un-used music
- 2-Player mode win/loss screens tweaked, includes un-used bullet bill sprite
- Various tweaks to text/font formats
- SGB support w/ border and palette (thanks @marc_max)
This hack should work on anything, even on Super Gameboy some improvements can be seen from the default palette picked.
If you are using a emulator that does not need the GBC BIOS/BOOT ROM and supports GBC palette's then the "Press Right" palette would likely be best, or if using the 3DS/2DS and injecting the rom, there are tools to specify the palette used, and those colors can be found here:
