F-Zero GX: Enhanced AX mode is a modification for the GameCube title F-Zero GX, designed to replicate the arcade experience of F-Zero AX. This patch includes updates such as the integration of Ralf's AX mode IPS patch, the replacement of background graphics and music with AX versions, and the restoration of previously omitted tracks. Enhanced AX mode enriches gameplay through added musical content and maintains the game's original coding functionality.
This patch aims at bringing the AX mode in F-Zero GX as close as possible to the actual F-Zero AX arcade game.
What's changed:
-Ralf's AX mode IPS patch was applied to the Start.dol executable.
-The background for Green Plant in the main menu was replaced with the one from AX.
-The main menu music was replaced with the one from AX, which sounds slightly different.
-The missing music from AX was added to the ISO. The Attract Mode and the Pilot Points menu after the race are never silent anymore. Nothing else was required in order to get it to work, as the game is coded to try to play those songs, even though Nintendo removed them from the GX ISO. It is also possible to use AR/Gecko codes in order to play other AX-exclusive songs.
