Mega Man V Refined aims to improve on the original game, mainly by tweaking its level-design when it was uninspired or unfair (or both).
Overall, the game is the same, but, hopefully, better, and a definitive experience.
Also, minor gameplay changes have been made, regarding enemy data, boss behaviour, R.Coil, R.Jet, E/M-Tanks and 1Ups, Message Speed and Select button (see read-me).
MEGA MAN V REFINED 1.2

* PRESENTATION *
Mega Man V Refined aims to improve on the original game, mainly by tweaking its level-design when it is uninspired or unfair (or both).
Overall, the game is the same, but hopefully better, and the definitive experience.
Several level-design changes have been made, which would be tedious to document, but easy to spot by playing.
Aside from that, gameplay changes have been made :
- enemy data (B Bitter, Dachone, Graviton, Irucan, Mizzile, Power Muscler, Sumatran, Twin Cannon)
- boss behaviours (Dark Man 1 and 3)
- R.Coil (bug-fixed as opposed to the original game, and uses 2 weapon units like in the other games in the series)
- R.Jet (uses weapon units as soon as the player steps on it)
- M-Tanks (appear even if the player already carries one)
- no sound picking up 1-Up, E/M-Tank if already carrying max (credit: MetHy)
- faster message speed during cutscene after Dark Man 4 is defeated (credit: MetHy)
- (OPTIONAL) select button (switches back to Mega Buster outside of menu; note that your projectiles and companions disappear if there were any onscreen)
* HOW TO PLAY *
Only ONE of the two patches must be used :
- "Mega Man V Refined (Buster Switch)" includes the optional use of select button (switches back to Mega Buster).
- "Mega Man V Refined" doesn't include it.
I recommand the Buster Switch version despite of its known issue (projectiles and companions disappear), as it greatly improves the flow of the game.
Either way, the patch must be applied to a US ROM.
