Mappy: The Jehovah's Witnesses is a ROM hack of the classic NES game Mappy, created by Googie. Released in the early 1990s, the game features original graphics and humorous storytelling influenced by a comic strip. Players control Peter Priest, who must escape from Jehovah's Witnesses while retrieving his religious items, blending comedy with classic platforming gameplay.
This hack is based on a comic strip that I made back in 1992, and this is my first attempt at making my own graphics also.

The Jehovah's Witnesses - Googie's Mappy hack.
This hack is based on a cartoon strip I made back in 1992, and the priest is actually a cartoon character of mine too. ^^' This is meant to be a joke and not to be taken seriously. And this is my first attempt to sprite hack, which I know I have no art skills when it comes to spriting on ROMS. I also wanted to sprite because of all the e-mails I get, I got tired of the "ur hax sux beecoose you don't draw your own gfx", at least I tried so shut up!1 ^^'

One night, God told Peter Priest to stop those who oppose him, and Peter says to God...
"Lord, I cannot do that unless you give me a sign. Please let your will take place upon this land." God did just so, and he tells Peter "I will always be by your side to help you." So, the next day there was an eclipse and someone was knocking on the door, when Peter said "Who is it?" The man on the outside said "We're here to preach the word of God, we'll be brief".
So when Peter opens the door, Jehovah's Wintesses charges into his home and tells him "We will take your religious belongings, and you will not stop us since we're going to make you one of us!" So when Peter is running from them, he opens a door to get away, but only to Find God's Holy Spirit was inside that door and it brushes away the Jehovah's Witnesses. So now that Peter needs to run for his life, he also has to make sure to rescue his religious belongings. Will Peter has what it takes?...
What been done Googie?
All the graphics has been changed, and some minor palette editing. I tried to change the text at the title screen, but no dice, there's text in the beginning and ending of the ROM. But no changes can be made, I dunno why either. :p
I did manage to change the text of "Sting" to "Swipe" in the bonus stage.
