Doubutsu no Mori is the inaugural title in the Animal Crossing series, launched exclusively in Japan for the Nintendo 64. It was later reimagined for the GameCube in 2002, rebranded as Animal Crossing for a global audience. The game supports the Expansion Pak, enhancing visual quality to 640x480 resolution compared to the standard 320x240.
