Mario Party: Soul of Japan is a party game for the Nintendo 64 featuring a unique board that challenges players with star locations and dynamic gameplay. The map introduces special spaces that alter player strategies, including opportunities for chance events. While the design includes thematic elements like water, it lacks animated visuals and dynamic paths, impacting the overall experience.
The map seems simple at first, but when a star moves, it leaves an!-space, causing problems! With 7 star locations, this board can be difficult. Even worse, there are two passable!-spaces so everyone gets a Chance Time! When we can create our own happening events, the?-Space will be added to warp the star location.
The Ending Ceremony and other cutscenes were out of place because this map had one background and one background picture for all scenes.
Other things to note: this board has water, but no animations make it move. Arrows to indicate split-paths are missing from the board.
