This hack replaces the terms fiends to Mystics and Fiendlord to Magus or Lord Magus as it was on the original SNES game, the rest is kept the same as the DS translation. Additionally, the author made minor graphic changes and palette modifications, the changes are as follows:
- Crono's mugshot given back his smile.
- Recolored Heckran's Cave and the Blackbird back to their blue colors.
- Dark Ages map post Lavos Beckons chapter was given more brightness.
- Ozzie, Frog, Marle were given small color changes.
Updates may come in the future, enjoy!

About this hack and author notes.
=================================
This hack aims to make some improvements based on the SNES version and add a translation bias towards the term Mystics, it's something I prefer over fiends
so I always wished I could change the term for my personal enjoyment and hopefully for other nostalgic players as me. In regards to palette changes,
I'm aware the game has all of it's palette changed to a darker, yellowish tone which I wish I could restore to the SNES original but frankly,
that's quite a herculean task so instead, I decided to change palettes for the ones which changes look the most apparent. You may think the palette changes
done to CT DS are nonsense (they kinda are) but if you play the game on a DS Lite, the colors actually don't look all that off from the SNES version... with
some weird exceptions:
- Marle's hair always stuck out like a sore thumb to me, it looks way too darkened than necessary.
- Ozzie looks more lime green than the dark green from SNES.
- Heckran Cave was changed to all green for some baffling reason, I find this the most offensive change since it's not just slightly darkened
they outright painted it all green in the same manner you would if you painted something with Color Replacer on Photoshop, dastarly!
- The Blackbird was also changed from it's blue color with green highlights to plain green. Not as bad as Heckran Cave but still...
I also noticed the character portraits have been slightly resized from the SNES version, it's quite unnoticeable if you look at all characters
but Crono's. Unfortunately, Crono's smile is gone after he got resized :(
I have fixed all things I noted above and a few more, like the Dark Ages map which palette looks more darkened as you'd expect but it was dark enough that
I wanted to adjust it. Most are not SNES accurate, the SNES palettes are way too bright to directly port them over so they are approximations to how the
SNES palette was and I'd say I'm satisfied with how it all turned out.
There's probably room for a few more changes and I wouldn't mind some feedback on the changes I made, English is not my native language so I hope there's
no glaring dialogue errors but if there are I'd like to be notified about it!
I hope you enjoy ths hack, dear reader :)
