Rhythm Heaven: Rhythm Heaven Undub is a modification for the Nintendo DS game Rhythm Heaven, enhancing the original experience by replacing the English audio with Japanese audio tracks. This patch successfully adjusts sound effects and music, ensuring synchronization during gameplay. Instructions for applying the patch to various ROM hacks are included. Notably, it lacks a specific Japanese voice clip found in the original.
Did you know Rhythm Heaven has traces of the ability to play the game with JP audio? This amazing feature wouldn't be fully realized until the later two entries in the series. This patch allows you to somewhat experience this unfinished feature completely!
This patch swaps all of the English audio (sound effects and streamed music) with their Japanese counterparts. Normally swapping the sound archive file between the JP and NTSC versions would cause a select few rhythm games to sound incorrect. However this patch further modifies the imported sound archive to make the entire game sound correct!
Included in the download are instructions to both use this patch as well as how to apply it to any romhack of your choice (I.E Touchless).
This mod needs to be applied with the xdelta patcher, which can be found here:

Simply apply the patch "RHUndub.xdelta" on an unmodified USA rom and you're good to go!
If you want to use this patch with another Romhack (I.E Touchless):
- Use a tool (such as DSBuff) to UNPACK both your romhack of choice AND your patched Undub roms
- Copy the sound archive file (located at "data/soundarc/RIQ.sdat") from your UNDUB unpack folder
- Place it in the same location in your ROMHACK unpack folder
- Use a tool (such as DSBuff, it can do both!) to REPACK your Romhack unpack folder
- Play your new Romhack file!
There is only one, TINY thing about this romhack that is inaccurate to the JP version, and that is the JP exclusive "Down" voice clip that plays along with the ball spawning cue in Remix 9 and in Space Soccer's practice doesn't play, even with this patch. I'm not even sure that most know about this JP exclusive sound cue or care that it's not included, but I figured I'd be upfront. Hopefully that's not a deal breaker for ya :P
