Fossil Fighters: Unused Move Restoration is a fan-made patch for the Nintendo DS game Fossil Fighters that restores five unused moves discovered within the original game. The patch adds moves named in Japanese, designed to enhance gameplay without balancing considerations. It also improves compatibility for certain dinosaurs, showcasing the game's editability and providing resources for community modifications.
The original Fossil Fighters was found to contain five unused moves, with Japanese names (since all unused content in the game is also untranslated). This patch simply restores those five moves; conveniently, the list of moves groups those of the same vivosaur together, so assigning them was not an issue.
Below are the moves added in, with the English titles that the author generated from Google Translate and put into the game (no claims to accuracy are made):
-Compso: "Ikiru Chikara" or "Power to Live," which heals all members of your team for 60 LP
-Hypsi: "Inochi no Saezuri" or "Chirping of Life," which heals all members of your team for 80 LP (Life Charge was removed to make room for this)
-Dinomaton: "Kasoku Souchi ON!or "Accelerator ON!," which is a clone of Quicken
-Frigi (given to both versions): "Itetsuku Ryuusei" or "Frigi Meteor" ("Itetsuku" being Frigi's Japanese name), a team skill which damages all enemies
-Igno (given to both versions): "Volcano Breath," another such team skill
This patch does do one other thing: in vanilla, both versions of Frigi and Igno had no team skill compatibility whatsoever; since their restored moves are team skills, they were made consistent with the other Legendary types and given compatibility with everyone.
Finally, do note that this patch was not even remotely designed with balance in mind--Compso, Frigi and Igno are already quite good, so a buff is not exactly in order. However, this patch is simply meant to showcase the unused moves and the fact that this game is now editable, with no particular expectation that it be used in normal gameplay.

CREDITS
As mentioned before, jianmingyong created the decompressor for this game, and cannot be thanked enough. The files for this game and its sequel were thought impenetrable for years, with their intimidating lack of file extensions, but jianmingyong was able to decipher the many layers of archiving and compression to make all this possible. So truly, hats off to them.
