Monster Hunter G is an expansion of the original Monster Hunter released exclusively in Japan for the PlayStation 2 in 2005. It introduces additional quests, gear, and variations of existing monsters, along with a new tier of G-class quests. The Hunter Rank limit increases from HR20 to HR30, and various quality of life improvements are implemented. A Wii version was launched in 2009 with adjustments aligning it closer to Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
