Vandal Hearts II is a tactical role-playing game for PlayStation featuring a simultaneous movement mechanic for player and enemy characters. This system, while intriguing, can lead to frustration due to its predictability and the AI's shortcomings. A simultaneous movement removal patch modifies gameplay to resemble the original Vandal Hearts by allowing player and enemy turns to alternate. This patch is compatible with the USA version of the game.
Vandal Hearts 2 is a tactical game with a unique combat system: Both Player and CPU characters move simultaneously. Although it looks interesting at first, it gets a little boring after a few hours of gameplay. The player is tempted to guess the enemy's movement as the AI is not very smart. When the guess is right, the game becomes very easy. If the guess is wrong, the player misses a move and this almost always turns into a character's death.
This hack removes simultaneous movement from the game and makes the gameplay similar to Vandal Hearts 1. The only problem is that, in order to facilitate game hacking, the enemy starts the movement each turn. But this is not a problem that spoils gameplay.
Moreover, there has been no change to the AI. This hack simply changes the way characters are moved. Ideally the AI should be adapted as well. Maybe this can be done in future work.
If you have played Vandal Hearts 2, you should try this improvement.
Feel free to report bugs or your thoughts on this hack.
