Lord Monarch: Tokoton Sentou Densetsu is a real-time war strategy title by Nihon Falcom and forms the seventh iteration of the Dragon Slayer series. Debuted in 1991 for NEC PC-9801, the game was successively adapted for Super Famicom in 1992, and Sega Mega Drive in 1994. A remastered version, under the name Lord Monarch Online, was released for Windows in 1997, available in both Japanese and English. The Super Famicom version, unique for its support of the console's mouse, features an array of themes beyond its medieval Europe setting, including futuristic and fairy-tale environments, and settings based on the Three Kingdoms era and fast-food elements. Its gameplay is characterized by unlimited alliance formation time until the Start button is pressed. There was also an exclusive broadcast version for Japan, named BS Lord Monarch, via Satellaview.

The Super Famicom version additional themes in addition to the medieval Europe theme. There is a futuristic theme with robots, a fast food theme with French fries and soft drinks attacking health food, a Three Kingdoms era theme, and a fairy-tale theme. The game is automatically paused until someone presses the Start button, so there is unlimited time for making alliances in the Super Famicom version—until the start button is pressed.
The Super Famicom version of Lord Monarch was one of the few games to support the Super Famicom mouse.
A later version of the game was broadcast exclusively for Japanese markets via the Super Famicom's Satellaview subunit under the name BS Lord Monarch and was view-limited.
