Mortal Kombat for Sega Genesis is a fighting game that features a roster of unique characters engaging in one-on-one battles. Unlike the Super Nintendo version, the Genesis port includes less censorship, allowing for more graphic content. While blood is not present by default to achieve a lower age rating, it can be unlocked using a cheat code. The game is rated MA-13 by the Videogame Rating Council.
The Genesis port of Mortal Kombat had an edge over the SNES version because it didn't have as much as censoring. For it to have a lower age rating, though, the blood is missing by default from the game, but available through the input of a cheat code. This version was given an MA-13 rating by the Videogame Rating Council.
