Shadowrun: Shadowrun Female Player is a modification for the Sega Genesis that enables players to assume the role of a female protagonist. The gameplay remains largely unchanged, with updates including new character names, sprites, and dialogue to reflect the gender swap. This mod retains the original experience while offering a fresh perspective on the narrative. Release versions include 1.0 and 1.1 with various bug fixes and refinements.
This modification to Shadowrun allows one to play as a female protagonist. Gameplay remains mostly identical so as not to change the experience, only allow the game to be played as a female character.
Changes include replacing the character's name, sprite and portrait as well as those of one of the non-player characters. Additionally any dialogue references to those characters has been altered to reflect these changes.
The mod consists of an IPS patch made using Lunar IPS.

Installation:
Obtain a normal copy of the Shadowrun ROM. These may be obtained from numerous sites.
Obtain an IPS patcher. I recommend Lunar IPS which was what I used to create the patch.
Use the patcher according to its instructions.

Notes:
The sprite of Ilene still shows up when you rescue Isaac in the cell in Hollywood and in the Jump House initially. Once he joins your team the sprite switches to the Joshua one.
The graphic in the opening animation depicts a male in the helicopter.
