Final Fantasy III: Anchors Aweigh! is a patch for the Super Nintendo game, designed to rectify the Air Anchor mechanic. The patch prevents targets afflicted by the Air Anchor status from dying due to regeneration, poison effects, or seizure damage, which previously triggered immediate death. Developed by Imzogelmo and Lenophis, this patch enhances gameplay balance and functionality.
When Edgar hits some poor monster with the Air Anchor, any action it takes will then proceed to kill it. However, it also means standing there regenerating, taking poison damage, or seizure damage will kill. This patch fixes that behavior.

And anyway, I would think that having a seizure or keeling over
momentarily from poison would count as movement.
When a target under the influence of Air Anchor experiences a regen, seizure,
or poison "tick" (healing or taking damage) it counts as movement. Sure enough,
the target dies immediately after the damage.
When this ailment (Air Anchor's effect) was brought back for FF9 (Heat anyone?),
regeneration and poison damage won't kill you. This seems like damning evidence
that this effect isn't meant to kill you when you sit there.

What this patch does:
This makes Air Anchor behave correctly, preventing poison damage, regen healing,
or seizure damage to not kill the target when air anchor status is set.
That does not stop targets from dying by other means though. :P
Note: The anti patches will remove the patch.
