Final Fantasy III: Anonymous Attack is a bug fix patch for the Super Nintendo version of Final Fantasy III, originally known as Final Fantasy VI in Japan. It addresses an issue where the character Kefka's special attack appears without an animation or name, resulting in a blank screen during battle. The patch ensures the correct loading of attack data, enhancing gameplay experience. Various versions for headered and non-headered ROMs are included.
When Terra is opening the Sealed Gate and your party has to face Kefka to buy time, Kefka has a chance of using a special attack. The problem is, it's not really that special. It's so not-special that it always misses. It's so not-special that it has no animation. In fact, it's so not-special that it apparently doesn't even have a name. So when he uses it, all you'll see at the top of the screen is a blank window. This patch causes Special attacks used by characters to load correctly so this doesn't happen.

PURPOSE:
When you fight Kefka at the Sealed Gate, he has a special attack that he rarely uses. Even though this attack has an official name, a blank window is shown at the top of the screen when he uses it. Furthermore, the attack shows no graphics and always misses. The reason is because the same function that loads a battle script for Kefka with a mobile sprite is negligent of the fact that he has a Special attack and doesn't load it. This patch causes all of the data to get loaded.
VERSION HISTORY:
v1.3 (December 15, 2016): Fixed a secondary issue whereby Kefka does not step back to his original position if Hit misses.
v1.2 (December 13, 2016): Previous version, while not a game-breaker, overwrote too much RAM. This version does not. Credit to Assassin for this solution.
v1.1 (December 12, 2016): Updated a neglected pointer.
v1.0 (December 12, 2016): Initial release.
