Final Fantasy III: Chance Offering is a fan-made patch for the Super Nintendo version of Final Fantasy III that addresses a bug related to the Offering relic, which fails to correctly halve the damage from Setzer's Dice. The patch enhances gameplay by fixing this issue, providing multiple versions compatible with both headered and non-headered ROMs for improved user experience.
The Offering relic is supposed to cut damage in half from all weapons, but it does not do so with Setzer's Dice. This patch will, in the words of Jean-Luc Picard, "make it so".

URGENCY:
Medium to high, if you actually use Setzer's Dice weapons at all.
PURPOSE:
Setzer's Dice weapons are unique because they have their own damage algorithm. The damage you deal from Dice is typically the product of the dice times Setzer's Level times two. The Offering relic is supposed to cut the damage in half if equipped, but it doesn't. This patch corrects that.
