Final Fantasy III: Imp's Call is a fan-made patch for the Super Nintendo version of Final Fantasy III and its subsequent remakes. The patch addresses the Imp status, which disrupts gameplay by canceling most actions and spellcasting. It ensures players can continue to summon Espers after becoming an Imp, enhancing overall game balance and usability for players who frequently utilize these abilities.
The Imp status is a lot of things. It's a bummer because it cancels out most commands, such as Tools and Blitz. It's inconvenient because it nulls out all spells except Imp, which you can use to remove the status. It is also unfair because if you're attempting to Summon an Esper, which you can only do once per Esper per battle, and you get turned into an Imp, not only do you fail to Summon the Esper, but you can no longer Summon it later in the battle. This patch eliminates this unfairness.

GBA EU: 080781C2-080781E9, 0807822C-0807822F
URGENCY:
Depends on how often you summon Espers. Pretty high if you use them a lot, low to medium if you don't use them very often.
PURPOSE:
The Imp status preempts most commands, replacing them with the Fight command. One of the commands that doesn't work with Imps is Magic, a subset of which is the ability to summon Espers. Each Esper can only be summoned once per battle, and if a character loses the ability to summon their Esper because they became an Imp, they do not get it back. This patch makes sure that the Imp status does not unfairly deprive you of your Esper in battle.
