Final Fantasy III: Imperial Camp Dialogue Bugfix is a minor patch for the Super Nintendo version of the game. It addresses a dialogue trigger issue related to the character Sabin when entering the Imperial Camp. The fix ensures that Sabin's alternate response occurs correctly if the player has not previously spoken to the character Shadow, thereby enhancing narrative consistency.
This a small bugfix for an oversight when entering the Imperial Camp.
There is an alternate line of dialogue for Sabin that is intended to be used if players have not spoken to Shadow at Gau's father's house; since Shadow is the one who tells Sabin about the Imperial Camp, the developer's intention was that if they hadn't spoken to Shadow, Sabin would be surprised by the presence of Imperials in the region.
However, this alternate line is set to trigger based on if Shadow has been named, not if players spoke to him at Gau's father's house. So if you encountered Shadow in South Figaro, Sabin's line won't trigger properly even if you ignore Shadow at Gau's father's house.
This patch corrects this oversight by making a small addition to the event where Sabin speaks to Shadow, and sets an event flag to mark that you've done so. Now when entering the Imperial Camp the event will check that flag instead and trigger the right line appropriately.
