Final Fantasy III: Lens Cap is a modification for the Super Nintendo version of Final Fantasy III, also known as Final Fantasy VI in Japan. This patch addresses the Lens Cap glitch encountered in the Fanatics' Tower when facing the White Dragon. It prevents the camera from erroneously shifting to the player's position, eliminating the need to exit and re-enter the room to reset the camera. The patch is compatible with both headered and non-headered ROM files.
Odds are, you'll eventually encounter the White Dragon in the Fanatics' Tower. When this happens, the camera will move to your position before the fight starts. The only way to make it move back to where it was is to leave the room and then re-enter. This patch ensures the camera will not move in the first place.

PURPOSE:
There's this one room in the Fanatics' Tower that is the home of the White Drgn, one of the Eight Dragons you have to beat to gain Crusader. However, there's an error that can occur when you encounter him: when you walk next to him, the camera will center on your position before the fight, but won't move back unless you leave and re-enter the room. This patch stops the camera from moving in the first place.
The way this fix works is, in situations where the camera should move to a party's position when they are encountering an enemy, a check is added for the size of the boundaries of the current map. If those boundaries are so small that the camera is normally fixed in either the X- or Y-direction, then the camera will not move in that direction on such a map.
