Final Fantasy II: Medicine Power-up Patch is a fan-created modification for the Super Nintendo version of Final Fantasy IV. This patch enhances the effectiveness of Edward's Medicine command, increasing HP recovery to the range of 60-90. It includes two IPS patches: one for the Japanese version (FF4j) and another for the U.S. version (FF2us), which restores dummied commands and corresponding battle messages.
Anyone who has played FFIV knows that Edward’s Medicine/Heal command is pretty useless, since it splits a Potion among 5 people. That’s like sharing a slice of pizza with your whole family — and who wants to do that? So I’ve created a patch that will increase the HP recovery done by this command, into the 60-90 HP range. Now everybody can have a slice.
The file includes two IPS patches, one for FF4j and one for FF2us. Both increase the HP recovery of Medicine, but since this (and other) commands were dummied out of the U.S. version, the patch for FF2us restores those commands and their battle messages, too.

This zip file includes two IPS patches. The one titled
"Medicine Power-up.ips" is for FF4j, and increases the HP
recovery by Edward's Medicine command.
The second file, titled "Medicine Power-up + Commands.ips",
also increases the HP recovery by Edward's Medicine, but
is intended for the FF2us ROM version 1.0. Since this (and
other) commands were dummied out of this version, this patch
restores those commands and their battle messages, too.
I used the FF4A command names.
The data changed to increase the HP recovery amount is
only one byte. Difficult to find, but an easy fix once
you know where to look. If you'd like to tweak the command
to your own liking, the offset locations in the ROM are:
FF2us 1.0 FF2us 1.1 FF4j Data Use

If you don't know the hex values for items, you can download
the Pro Action Replay codes available for the game on
GameFAQs, which has this information.
