Final Fantasy III: Offering Tweak is a modification for the Super Nintendo version of Final Fantasy III. Created by Lenophis, this patch disables the "can't be dodged" flag associated with the Offering item, allowing attacks to rely on the equipped weapon's hit rate instead. It addresses balance concerns while maintaining the original gameplay experience. The patch is compatible with both US and Japanese versions.
This patch prevents the “can’t be dodged” bit from being set. Hence, all strikes are based on the hit rate of the weapon(s) equipped.
Title: Offering + Sniper Sight modification
Author: Lenophis
Version: v1.1
Applies to: FF3us v1.0, FF3us v1.1, FF6j
Tested on: FF3us v1.0 The location is the same in v1.1, so I can only assume
it works. It is still untested though, and also untested on FF6j.

ROM addresses: US - C2/2A0B - C2/2A0F
Japan - C2/2A06 - C2/2A0A
In case you can't read CPU addresses, they are at $22A0B-$22A0F
and $22A06-$22A0A, respectively. Add $200 if rom has a header.
The same 5 bytes, A9 20 0C 4A 11 are changed to EA EA EA EA EA.
Urgency: Low to none. This isn't a bug by any regards, just something I found
to be annoying and abusive.
The Offering loaded a flag that sets "can't be dodged" which is the cause of my
headaches. This flag is also used by the Sniper Sight, which isn't affected by
this patch at all. The title just needed something that could easily be
associated with the inbalance.
It prevents the "can't be dodged" flag from being set, and the game will still
use the hit rate of the weapon equipped. The whole idea is moot though, unless
you fix the evade bug, and lower the hit rates of every weapon.
Although this could just as easily been done by changing three bytes (0C 4A 11)
which actually sets the flag. Since nothing was being shifted around or anything
else affected, it was all the same to me.
Terii Senshi & assassin - They wrote the C2 bank disassembly. Needless to say
this patch wouldn't exist without it. :)
