Power Instinct is a one-on-one 2D fighting game for the Super Nintendo, released as a counterpart to the Sega Mega Drive version. Players choose from eight unique characters, including a boss fighter, to engage in sequential battles utilizing distinct moves and reflexes. The game features single-player modes, as well as competitive two-player gameplay, practice, battle, time attack, and life attack modes, enhancing replayability.
The console version of Power Instinct released on the Super Nintendo and Super Famicom. There are various minor features removed from the Super Nintendo release of the game.
A Japanese exculsive Sega Mega Drive version was also released with minor changes and an extra game mode.
