Seiken Densetsu 3 / Trials of Mana - More Evade Changes
v1.2, by hmsong
There were lots of problems with the original Seiken Densetsu 3 regarding Agility (aka DEX), which determined Accuracy and Evade. First of all, none of those stats worked properly, which made numerous items and abilities either useless (ex: Speed Up/Down, Duran's shields, Needlion's Eye, Bird's Scale) or less effective (ex: Earth Jutsu). Second, enemies' Evade stats were all over the place in weird ways.
Praetarius5018's bugfix patch fixes the first problem, and v1.8+ even deals with the second problem. This patch changes the enemies' Evade stats into something more fitting, although slightly different than praetarius5018's bugfix patch. Think of this patch as a variation to the Agility's second problem.
Note that since the Evade Changes patch only deals with the second problem, praetarius5018's bugfix patch is REQUIRED for this patch to have any effect.
Applying Notes:
-
***Apply this AFTER praetarius5018's bugfix patch.***
- To combine Better Monsters and/or Less Grinding, apply the other patches first, then apply the Evade Changes patch -- if you don't, then you may not get some of the changes that I intended.
- This is specifically for No Header ROM. If you only have a Headered ROM, then you can use TUSH () to remove the header.
- Compatible with the English
http://www.romhacking.net/translations/440/. But again, you need a Unheadered ROM. If you are using the translation patch from Romhacking.net, then you need to apply the translation to a Headered ROM first, then use TUSH to remove the header. And then you can apply these patches.
There are other hacks for Seiken Densetsu 3 that you should check out:
Sin of Mana
-
- This changes the contents of the game in many ways, such as equipment bonus, level-up change, class balance, difficulty, boss behaviors, running in battles, MP regeneration, dungeon format, and tons of bug fixes. It's a completely new game though, since so much has changed, and the game progress is slightly different.
- There is also a forum (google "Sin of Mana forum"), where you can ask the creator (praetarius5018) numerous questions. He is very helpful, and even helps you to create your own hack. He certainly did for me.
- Sin of Mana is NOT compatible with the new Trials of Mana.
- Sin of Mana is NOT compatible with hmsong's patches.

There were lots of problems with the original Seiken Densetsu 3 regarding

Praetarius5018's bugfix patch fixes the first problem, and v1.8+ even deals with
the second problem. This patch changes the enemies' Evade stats into something
more fitting, although slightly different than praetarius5018's bugfix patch
(hence the name, "More"). Think of this patch as a variation to the Agility's

then you need to apply the translation to a Headered ROM first, then use TUSH
