Super Mario World: Death Land is a fan-made modification of the classic Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Created by SetoChaos, this hack features ten challenging levels that offer a difficulty increase over the original game while remaining accessible. Players can modify the hack with proper attribution to the creator. To play, users need a ROM of Super Mario World, a patching tool, and a SNES emulator.
This is my Super Mario World hack which consists of ten levels. Expect it to be harder than the original game but not as hard as some of the hacks out there.
Super Mario World: Death Land was made by SetoChaos, you can change the hack as long as you credit me.
Anyway, here's how you can play it:
1. Get a Super Mario World ROM
Ok, I can't tell you where to get this, it's illigal to distribute. However, if you own the original game then it's perfectly legal to obtain since it would be considered a backup of your original copy. If you live in a country that doesn't allow you to keep backups of games then I'm not responsible for you downloading it. If you do live in one of these countries then I would advise you not to download the ROM. This also means that you cannot play my hack.
2. Get the patcher and patch the file
There are many of these you can use. I used SNESTL12 but IPS XP should work fine too. Just do a google search! If you don't know how to use the patcher you have then look online, there should be some instructions around.
3. Get a SNES Emulator
Easy to find, just do a Google search, I use SNES9X but ZSNES should work just as fine. Just make sure you use it to only play games that you own an original copy of.
4. Open the game and play.
Self explanitory.
EXTRA:
Where do I get an original copy of Super Mario World?
There are many different versions of it, but you will need the SNES version. The best place to obtain it is by getting it from eBay.
I hold Right, B and A in the first level but I still fail! Why is this?
When I was making this game I designed it to be played with a NES control and not a SNES control. This is because I have a NES USB adaptor but not a SNES USB apaptor. So with a SNES controller it would be Hold Right, Y and B.
Random tiles appear in the overworld when I first complete a level! Why is this?
Currently, I don't know why this is. If I manage to fix it I will put out a new version. Either way, it disapears when you enter another level.
