The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: Zelda3 God Mode

The God Mode, Byrna hack is a collection of small hacks, which make you invincible or give you the Cane of Byrna.

The God Mode has two features: if you get hit, your energy will not be reduced. But you can still be defeated if falling down the pits or if the hit is bigger than your current max health (sudden death). In such cases you will get the infinite automatic fairy. You thus can not die. To save the game you need to press select and choose save and quit. This hack was designed for very difficult hacks, mainly Parallel Worlds, to be able to play the game without constant dying (specially if you play the game on systems, which don't support special features like save states).

The Byrna hack on the other hand will give you the Cane of Byrna by default and the green magic auto-refill. The purpose of this hack is the same as with the God Mode, it is just less powerful.

Patch any separate IPS file to Original Unmodified Zelda A Link to the Past SMC rom file. It must be the US version and with NO header.

The file must have 1.024 KB (in explorer). If it is 1.025 KB, do NOT patch to it (you will produce a bugged rom!, which must be deleted and the process repeated with the correct original rom). Do NOT patch to EU or JAPAN roms.


Features:
1.) GOD MODE = If hit, no energy will be reduced. If you fall down the pit, your energy will be reduced, but if you die, you will get an Infinite Automatic Fairy. Side product: if you don't have a bottle yet, you will gain one after such a resurrection. The game will thus have 5 bottles, but when you collect the 5th one, it will go to NOP (no operation)!

2.) BYRNA HACK = You will get the Cane of Byrna by default. Side product: When you get Byrna at the regular place, it will go to NOP (no operation)! You will also get the green magic auto-refill.

3.) TUNIC HACK = (Only for Goddess of Wisdom). Start the game with the red tunic (level 3 tunic), since the game has no tunic upgrades. The game will now be much more fair in a later stage (no more 4 hearts of damage).
