This is a hack that removes some of the bright flashing in the game. This allows the game to be better enjoyed by those who have sensitivity to bright flashing lights. Some other flashing animation is still in the game, but the ones that got the most complaints such as the death flash, the flash from splitting ghosts, and from using the Fleet Spell have all been eliminated. Death will still cause Willow to flash, and the screen will turn white, but the full screen flash will be gone.

Update: Thanks to dan jai the authors were finally able to fix the issue of the hack not working on Everdrive. The authors also eliminated even more flashing from the game.

Willow for the NES contains a few situations where a bright, white flash appears on screen for certain events. While other flashes also ocure, this white flash is a trigger warning for those who are sensitive to bright flashes.

This hack eliminates the bright white flashing that occures when a ghost splits, when using the Fleet Spell, and when dying.

Hopefully this hack will make the game more accessable.

1.1 update: Thanks to dan jia for finding the issue with Everdrive and why it wasn't working.

Now all the flashing should be removed from the game. That includes Ebortsisk and Kael as well as Bavmorta.
